A message to all our clients

 

UPDATE 01/12/20

1-2-1 Sessions resume from 3/12/20

We are still currently unable to restart Pilates matwork group classes. Due to the restrictions from our governing body/government, along with social distancing that we would have to put in place, we would be limited to teaching only 4 clients per class. To accommodate all our clients this would mean us trebling the number of classes that we were already teaching before lockdown and we know that this is not possible physically or financially.

We hope that this will change for us soon, and in the meantime, we can now offer our 1-2-1 classes and you can view our classes on our Online Hub.

Our new ONLINE HUB is now up and running, where we have uploaded our full catalogue of Pilates video classes for you to watch and follow along with. All you need to do is subscribe on a monthly or annual basis and then you will have access to 10 new video classes every month plus our full back catalogue of video classes.

Pilates for you

Body Control Pilates is a body conditioning method that works in a different way to other fitness techniques. Targeting the deep postural muscles, Pilates works by building strength from the inside out, rebalancing the body and bringing it into correct alignment. This improves posture, achieving a good balance between strength and flexibility, and is a great way to relieve unwanted stress and tension. Great for athletes looking to enhance perfomance but avoid risk of injury. 

 

Pilates is also perfect for the first time exerciser. Its slow, controlled approach means that it gives much longer-term results. Pilates teaches you to understand your body by unlearning bad postural habits that we unknowingly pick up over the years. It is especially recommended by medical specialists for those with chronic back pain, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, women's health probems and stress related illnesses.

Our Classes

From our brand new purpose-built studio at Brancaster Hall on the North Norfolk Coast, you can join a number of our different classes or enjoy one-to-one instruction or treatments. Our group classes are limited to 12 people so that we can give each client our personal attention and ensure that every person in the class is exercising correctly and safely.

Our classes and treatments include:

  • Body Control Pilates classes

  • Matwork Pilates classes

  • One-to-one Matwork Pilates instruction

  • One-to-one or two-to-one Pilates Reformer sessions in the Reformer apparatus room

  • Sports injury treatment by appointment - deep tissue massage, holistic massage, soft tissue release

  • Individual treatment of aches, sprains and everyday muscular tensions

Teachers

Partners at the studio and in life, Hannah Nicol and Gary Newstead soon discovered that they were often treating the same clients and by combining their skills they would complement each other very well. Both will be based at the new studio and they are passionate about welcoming all ages and abilities to their range of classes, one-to-one sessions and treatments. 

Hannah Nicol

Hannah comes from a dance background having studied at Redroofs Theatre School in Berkshire and has both qualified and taught a variety of dance classes from ballet, salsa, jive and tap dancing to aerobics classes for many years. Qualifiying as a Body Control Pilates teacher in 2000 and consequently becoming a Member of the Register of Exercise Professionals, Hannah has been teaching daily Pilates classes from beginners to advanced at Sussex Barn, Burnham Market since 2002.

She has recently qualified as a Pilates Reformer Teacher.

Gary Newstead

Growing up locally in South Creake and a keen sports person, it was a personal football injury that led to Gary's interest in sports injury treatment and rehabilitation. In 2003 he qualified with The Football Association in the Treatment and Management of Injuries in Football. This was followed by diplomas in Anatomy and Physiology, Holistic massage, and further training in deep tissue massage and Soft Tissue Release. In 2018 Gary qualified as a Body Control Pilates Matwork teacher and hopes to introduce more men to the benefits of Pilates.
